I saw an NC Miata at Home Depot once. I was confused.

Why drive the truck if all you need is some fasteners?

Hose clamps can fasten almost as many things as zip ties can. So yes.

Tsk tsk tops up. What a beautiful day for the top down!

I wish it wasn’t so bad for the top material though. Anything below 40 is generally bad for the top, but once it gets to like 10 degrees it is actually difficult to fold mine. I love the top down in that weather though, it is invigorating.

It was probably high 20s today, and I heard the fabric creaking grumpily when I folded it... seems to be OK in the high 30s though, or if it’s been in the sun for a bit.

The early S2000's had plastic rear windshields which are notorious for cracking at not-really-so-cold temperatures.

I have surprised myself with how much I like top-down, especially after finding the actual top-down setting on the heater. I would never have thought to appreciate the convertible top this much; I decided on the S2000 for other reasons. #CantGoBack

Yup, I actually disliked the idea of a convertible. I thought it would be annoying and end up with a hard top in no time. I bought a Miata for many other reasons. But yeah I have had the same revelation and now any car with a solid roof feels like I am missing part of the experience or something. Since then I have had a rental Merc SLK250 and Camaro (both 'verts) and it only felt natural to drive 100% of the rental period with the top down lol.

Hah that is pretty nifty. What exactly does this setting do?

How is the plastic rear window? I am so happy to have the glass with defroster. I feel like a plastic window would make the car seem much more like a toy.

It’s feet plus a center-console vent that angles downwardish. It’s actually really effective.

I have the glass too. The plastic has a larger area than glass, so better visibility, but it discolors also.

I have my defogger disconnected from my ongoing attempts to seek and destroy a leak in the back, but honestly, I don’t have much fog or frost at all. I do Invisible Glass then two coats of Rain-X.

That keeps frost off? I've generally had a nice layer of frost on my back window every morning. I just throw on the defroster and it melts away in a couple minutes. I did have to rewire it though so hopefully I don't light on fire.

It comes off with a wipe and doesn’t seem to re-form; not positive but it seems better than the Sienna, which I haven’t Rain-Xed in quite a while.
